HUFF was one of the most notable singers in the Southwest just under TOMMY DUNCAN who did the vocal chores with the legendary BOB WILLS. These tracks are recordings from HUFF’S tenure with THE LIGHTCRUST DOUGHBOYS in the early thirties. If his vocals on some of the love ballads in this collection don’t strike a nerve, the listener doesn’t care for the musical genre or isn’t breathing. HUFF died in l952 at the age of 39 on the JOHNNIE LEE WILLS band bus in Sulphur, Oklahoma after a one night appearance. 26 performances.
