Most country/pop fans will remember HUSKEY from his first huge hit “GONE” written by California’s SMOKEY ROGERS. However, the original which is included in this collection was recorded under HUSKEY’S pseudonym TERRY PRESTON in the early fifties which met with little acclaim. The song was later re-recorded and became a huge country & pop hit for HUSKEY in l957 after he saw chart action with THE DEAR JOHN LETTER a duet with JEAN SHEPHERD in l953 followed by four top twenty releases. The tracks included here are from his early Four Star and Capitol years. Hard core country fans will enjoy this one. 24 tracks. Liner notes by Brian Golbey May.
