ROSE MADDOX born Arbana Roscea Brogdon near Boaz, Ark. In l926 and raised in Bakersfield, California. Worked with the family band on radio in Modesto, California and toured that area in the mid-40’s She first recorded with her brothers, Cal, Henry, Fred and Don becoming THE MADDOX BROTHERS & SISTER ROSE for 4 Star Records in l947. The group disbanded in l959 and ROSE went solo recording for Capitol. While she did well on personal appearances, her recording career was somewhat lack luster. She only had one top ten, SING A LITTLE SONG OF HEART ACHE # 3 in l962. However her duets with BUCK OWENS, MENTAL CRUELTY # 8 in l961 & Freddy Hart’s LOOSE TALK# 4 that same year fared considerably better.
