Carter, his wife Sara, and sister-in-law, Maybelle Carter. Their grand legacy to country music began with a now-famous recording session that took place on August 1, 1927 in the city of Bristol, Tennessee. Between the years 1927 and 1941, they recorded over 350 songs. Their famous melodies and Maybelle's "Carter Lick" on the guitar are legendary. Many of their old favorites such as "Wildwood Flower," "Can The Circle Be Unbroken," and "I'm Thinking Tonight Of My Blue Eyes," are but a portion of their monumental legacy.
