In December 2006 the Pure Oil service station in Oak Hill, Virginia where WILLIAMS was found dead in the back seat of his 52 Cadillac convertible was leveled to the ground, much to the dismay of HANK fans. This production starring “SNEEZY” WATERS as WILLAIMS will take you back to New Years Eve l952 the time of WILLIAMS’ untimely death. The opening scene finds WILLIAMS(WATERS) in the back seat of his Cadillac with his guitar reminiscing about his career, his trials and his tribulations. After one of his recordings played on the Cadillac’s radio the announcer refers to him WILLIAMS as “the King of country music” to which he rejects soundly with no small amount sarcasm. Eventually, WILLIAMS(WATERS) through the magic of film leaves the Cadillac with his guitar makes his way to a small “honky tonk” where he performs THE SHOW HE NEVER GAVE and entertains with an excellent back-up band that rivals that of the original “DRIFTING COWBOYS” While WATERS’ vocals are sub-par compared to WILLIAMS himself, the movie is more than a little interesting and brings his passions, fears, genius, and small mindedness to the surface for all to see. The dark and tragic elements are emotionally balanced by WILLIAMS folksy charm, sly wit and classic songs.
