$11.85Lefty Frizzell, originally from Texas, got his name from a school yard fight. Although he was only a member of the Grand Ole Opry for a short time, he had a very successful career recording over 240 songs. One of his best known #1 hits was "Saginaw, Michigan," which also crossed into the pop charts in 1964. His influence was clearly visible in other country artists that came after him such as George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Randy Travis. Lefty died of a stroke in 1975.
