$14.84JOHNNY HORTON/COUNTRY LEGEND. This collection was recorded in the early 50's & were originally released on FABOR ROBINSON'S Abbot label. All cuts are traditional country with the exception of back-up voices which have a somewhat popular tinge i.e. THE MODERNAIRES popular in the forties and seem to be more than a little out of place . Instrumentation, however is traditional country and one the purists will enjoy with lap steel, fiddles, electric lead, rhythm guitar & bass. While these recordings were made over a half century ago, HORTON who died in a car accident in l960, still sounds much the same, if not better, than he did on his later recordings, and shows what an exceptional vocalist he was.
